The answer is different financiers are making different returns at different rates. That’s why so many popular films — like In The Loop for example — scored 0% in the Film Council’s recoupement list… not because they were not successful, but because of how the particular contract was done. When you say that Donkey Punch is: “making returns to its financiers.”, is your language deliberately ambiguous?

A return is surely tri-valent: you lose; you break even; or, you win.

“Is making returns” has been chosen in preference to, “Has made returns”.

as you probably know the day of the indictments (which now looks like tomorrow) is being called “FITZMAS” (“Fitz” for Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, and “mas” for the mass of indictments that are probably coming down).
anyway, there’s a lot of excitement over on this side of the pond. it’s great to see those white house devils sweat.
