Farewell Nic Roeg

Published by Olly Blackburn

A film-making titan from cinema greatest era, one of the few left of that particular breed. So many masterpieces, so much to answer for. He transformed film language and put spiritualism and philosophy into cinema using cinema and among many others…. he made two of the most important films in my lifeĀ  — Performance and Don’t Look Now.

I interviewed him for Time Out when Donkey Punch was released, it’s out there, he was a brain and a force and now he’s returned to the universe he helped enrich, as Thomas Jerome Newton says:

“Well I’m not a scientist. But I know all things begin and end in eternity.”
